He Hears You

I LOVE the Lord, for He heard my voice; He heard my cry for mercy. Because He turned His ear to me, I will call on Him as long as I live.

Psalm 116:1-2

The God of the Universe hears our prayers. The One who created the cosmos and painted every sunrise and sunset we would ever see hears us when we cry out to Him. Wow! Can we let that sink in for a second?

When I was far from God I had a hard time with that concept. Why would a King so mighty and powerful care about little ole me? Why?

The answer to that question is found at the cross.

My pastor, mentor, and friend Mario Padrino once said, “If you were the only person left on this earth, God still would have sent His one and only Son to save you. That’s how much He loves you!”

This tore me up inside. It changed how I see God. No longer did I see Him as a harsh, punishing master. I began to see Him as my compassionate and loving Father. Friend, I pray that is how you see Him. That is the true nature of our Great Lord. Just picture yourself for a moment, crying out in prayer. Desperate for a solution to your child’s addiction, your broken marriage, or whatever is ailing you today. As you plead for answers, and ask why this is happening to you just imagine the Father of Lights leaning in and turning His ear toward you. Our loving Father never stops listening. He hears every cry, every question, every fear and doubt. He chooses to bend His ear toward us, He never stops, and is always listening.

So don’t walk, run to Him! Get on your knees today and tell Him all about it! Be raw, be real, and be honest. Then patiently wait, and watch God work in your life; in your problem. Because if He turns His ear to hear you, you better believe He will respond to your prayer. His answer may not look like you want it to look, but He will answer — He always does.

Prayer:
Father — we know you are good. We trust and believe that You hear our prayers. We know that You have the power to speak life into the dead things in my life. So, here I am, help me God. I am crying out to you now, please hear me. I trust you will show me mercy and kindness. Comfort me today and give me strength to persevere. I love you Jesus.

Amen
